Got An interesting Mail from our Reader Sven Wee
"Here is a little writeup and some more pics from my 1992 Ducati 900 SuperSport Cafe Racer.
The Ducati is the second bike we built, after we finished a restoration of an 1982 Moto Guzzi V50 Monza.
Who are we ?
We are a young little bike-workshop in germany called "Cafe2Ride - Vintage Motorcycle Customs" and after my dad and I finished the guzzi, the whole Idea of building bikes the more professional way started when a friend of mine joined our team and we started to rip the Ducati apart in Winter 2011/2012. I bought the Ducati in 2007 and rode it for about 4 Years until it was time to do something else with her, so transformating her into a cafe racer was the best Idea, After everything was dissassembled, the frame & clipons went for powdercoating, while the tank & newly build seat went to the painter to get painted in a satin black tone with polished knee dents. While waiting for the parts, the engine & brakes have been fitted with new gaskets and maintained, so that we were able to put everything back together as soon as possible, when the painted parts arrive. As they came, the fork and swingarm directly went into the frame to get a rolling chassis and the engine was assembled and mounted shortly after that. Now with the rolling chassis available, it was time to completely renew the electrics and wire harness to hide everything as good as possible, because there was no more fairing on the bike where the cables had been hidden before. After the electrical part was done, it was time to attach the rest on the bike and soon it became complete again, almost.
Now there were only the small parts missing anymore...
New K&N Air Filter and Engine Breather, New minimal speedometer, with self designed control-lights dash, BOS High Up Exhausts, Small Winkers and Taillight, minimalistic Ducati Stickers on Tank and Seat. New Brake Lines, Minimal Alloy Frontfender, and lots of minor stuff to make the bike look sleek and fast, In March 2012 she finally was done and gets ridden ever since, whenever the time is there to rock the streets on her back, After that Ducati build there followed a restoration of a Moto Guzzi Nuovo Falcone, a Brat Style build based on a Honda CB750F2 and a Honda CX500 Cafe Racer, and now we are working on restoring a 1972 Honda XL250K0. So you see if you once get bidden by the motorcycle bug you can't let go anymore and I hope there is much more to come in the future, For more Information about us and our bikes you can check our homepage: cafe2ride or our facebook Page cafe2ride
Cheers and thank you for your time,"
