The project was developed in collaboration with Aprilia for Industrial Design thesis at the Politecnico di Milano.
The engine and chassis measures are those from Aprilia Shiver, also for fitting with the 1200cc Twin.
The project aims designing a concept-bike that can be varied from an aesthetical, a functional or a user friendly viewpoint, according to customer needs. This solution is strictly influenced by “mass customization”, that requires components to change the motorbike and make it functional according to own needs.
Innovation, that is another core aspect of this project, increases the symbiosis between man and motorbike.
The company production process will be not affected by a strong product segmentation, but it will comply with scale economy.
The main innovative aspect of this project is the capacity of interaction with the end user, who will be able to change his riding style if necessary, with finicky attention to the development of the interface elements: seat, handlebars and footboards.
The product will be designed to make easier a customization of aesthetics and accessories, that will be more in connected to end user tastes. The adaptation moreover offer servicing easiness and safety measures.
The project mean to do a motorbike than it’s able to start a new market share capable to acquire target from the actual segments between sport, naked, touring and custom, with the skills of all that type.
Specs:
- aluminum elliptical tubes trellis frame with standard bushings connecting elements
- adjustable and customizable riding position through rear set and seatpost (eccentric system)
- adjustable and customizable riding position through the handlebar, height, width, inclination; with integrated brake reservoir
- technogel saddle and retractable passenger foot pegs unlockable by key
- programmable mapping and traction control with ride-by-wire.
- staining adhesive films solenoid valve that change the color of the bike
- multi compartment tank. Different cover could integrate load space, helmet, navigation system or larger airbox, and handle security for the passenger
- Plexiglass windshield adjustable in height and tilt, removable and replaceable with windscreen
- Front caliper brake system that can replace three different types of brake pads without tools
The result is a flexible 2 wheel ride style, adjustable on the final user anthropometry and able to get a most advantageous setting for all the situations.
The bike adjust capability to own physiognomy, on ride style and personal needs, increase the pleasure to employ that and the fidelity with the brand.
