TreMoto vehicles can reportedly lean up to 45 degrees just like a motorcycle, and are controlled completely by the rider. A limited run of production models, deliverable from the third quarter of 2011, will be based on a Ducati Hypermotard motorcycle. The platform therefore uses chromoly trellis frame, low mass center, and 105hp, TreMoto's patent-pending parallelogram double a-arm front suspension riding on a pivoting composite leaf spring with rotary dampers and a hydraulic lean brake,“TreMoto are currently in the design and procurement stage for the second prototype, which will serve as a pre-production model. This apex predator will share DNA with the 1100cc Ducati HyperMotard. Capable of lofting both front wheels, leaning up to 50 degrees, and weighing in under 450lbs wet,” the company says on its website. |
