1962 Ariel 700cc Four-Cylinder Prototype (696cc Inline Four Cylinder OHV) Electric Start (approximately 20 years before BMW made their version)
Engine: 696cc in-line four-cylinder OHV. Fan assisted air-cooling. Zenith carburettor. Wet sump lubrication with pressure fed main and big end bearings. Coil ign. and electric starter. Engine suspended from main beam of frame.
Transmission: Morris Minor car clutch and syncro-mesh gearbox in unit with the engine. Universal coupling and shaft drive to crown wheel and pinion.
Wheels: 3.25 x 17in front - 4.00 x 16in rear.
