A very important news to all those who are waiting for Garware-Hyosung GT250R is that the bike will no longer be called by the name as Hyosung has split with India's Garware.
Hyosung has split with Garware, instead has joined hands with DSK Motowheels, a part of DS Kulkarni group of companies who are big players in real estate and car dealerships. DSK Motowheels hold dealerships for Toyota cars in Western India and are known for their quality service.
2012 Hyosung GT250R launch in India :
Hyosung will launch its fully faired GT250R under the name DSK-Hyosung GT250R DSK Motowheels is launching its very first motorcycle in India today, the Hyosung GT250R. The event is taking place at Nariman Point in Mumbai
Hyosung engine assembly at DSK plant :
DSK Motowheels will take care of the assembling part of the GT250R in its Wai plant at Maharashtra. DSK which was doing the fitting work of completely built engine to the CKD units of Hyosung's currently available bike models in India, will begin engine assembly at the Wai plant soon.
So we can expect the prices of the existing models of Hyosung bikes to go down by a fair bit once when DSK begins the engine assembly process.
Moreover, Hyosung's next launch in India, the GT250R will have its engine assembled in India. This will allow the DSK Garware to give it a competitive rate to compete with Japanese players like Honda CBR250R and Kawasaki Ninja 250R.
2012 Hyosung GT250R engine :
The GT250R is powered by a 250cc V-Twin engine with DOHC layout with four valves per cylinder. The oil-cooled engine is capable of producing 28 Bhp of peak power and 23 Nm of peak torque.
Presently, Hyosung with the partnership of Garware sells threes models in India namely, GT650R, the GT650N and the ST7.
With its new collaboration DSK Motowheels, Hyosung has plans to bring in a 250cc and 650cc cruiser in the coming months.
