The 1898 Orient-Aster motorcycle
 Initially, motorcycles were built on strengthened bicycle frames. The earliest models used a French Aster engine and were known as Orient-Asters, although later designs incorporated domestically manufactured power units, and Aster was dropped from the name. This motorcycle's one-cylinder engine, a U.S.-built unit, generated 2.5 horsepower and was fitted with copper fins, an early refinement that improved engine cooling.

I found two Original Waltham Motorcycle Club Pins recently,...the Waltham Club I believe was America's 1st MC Club founded around 1900-01 ,..a few of its members were Charles H Metz and Oscar Hedstrom,....I would like to include a scan of one of the pins on here as they are an important part of Orient History
